Disaster Survival House

The Disaster Survival House is a 3,300 square foot, three bedroom home located in Deerfield Beach, FL. The house was built by State Farm Insurance and subsequently donated to the City of Deerfield Beach. The house was built to withstand major hurricane force winds and to educate the community on hurricane preparedness. The City continues to help provide life saving information to the community. The Disaster Survival House was designated a Fortified Home by the Institute of Business and Home Safety during FEMA's Project Impact Program. The Disaster Survival House is owned by the City of Deerfield Beach and in partnership with the National Safety Council, Florida Atlantic University, Florida International University and the International Hurricane Research Center, and the American Red Cross.
